Thanks for signing up — whether you found your way here through the website checklist, the novel page, or just wandering around the internet. All three are valid.
I’m Trish Montella. I’m a writer based in Richmond, Virginia, and I work in two directions at once, which I’ll explain briefly so you know what to expect when something lands in your inbox.
One direction is practical. I write for therapists, counselors, and behavioral health organizations — website copy, newsletters, policy briefs, patient education materials. Work that takes complicated ideas and makes them readable. If you’re a clinician who found me through the website checklist, that’s probably where you’ll find the most useful stuff.
The other direction is slower. Under the name Sybil Slater, I’ve written a novel — Shadows of Yesterday, the first book in a multigenerational series called Generations of Silence. It’s set in 1930s New York and follows a woman named Lola Gardner, who refuses to become what her world expects of her. The manuscript is done. More details on publication are coming, and you’ll hear about them here first.
I’m not going to flood your inbox. When I send something, it’ll be worth reading — a short piece of writing, something useful for your practice, an update on the book, or occasionally just a thought I couldn’t shake.
That’s the deal. Thanks for being here.
— Trish
